(a) Information on currency /bank notes and coins of different denominations in circulation in the country is given below; CURRENCY/ BANK NOTES :

(b) Yes, Sir.
(c) There is no shortage of currency/bank notes in the country. Some shortage of coins is reported from time to time and these are promptly attended to by rushing additional supply of coins to the affected areas.
(d) To meet the increasing demand for coins, the Mints at Kolkata, Hyderabad and Mumbai have been modernised with a view to raising their blanking and coining capacities. The Government also resorts to import of coins as and when required to meet the shortfall.
