Question : Electrification in Madhya Pradesh

(a) the total number of villages electrified in Madhya Pradesh during the financial year 2015-16 and the current year and the remaining number of villages to be electrified;

(b) whether any proposals sent by the State Government for the electrification of villages are lying pending, if so, the details thereof and the time by which pending proposals are likely to be granted sanction;

(c) the number of BPL rural families provided free electricity connections in the State under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana; and

(d) the details of the amount spent under this scheme in the State during 2015-16 and the current year?

(a) : Under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY), 214 villages have been electrified in 2015-16 and 133 villages have been electrified (upto 28.2.2017) during the current financial year in Madhya Pradesh. The remaining 103 un-electrified villages are targeted to be electrified by May, 2018.

(b) : No proposal for electrification of villages from the Government of Madhya Pradesh, is pending.

(c) : Under DDUGJY including Rural Electrification (RE) component, 17.44 lakh free electricity connections have been provided to Below Poverty Line (BPL) households in Madhya Pradesh, cumulatively as on 28.02.2017.

(d) : Amount of Rs.434.83 crore and Rs.222.42 crore respectively have been released as subsidy under DDUGJY for Madhya Pradesh during the FY 2015-16 and the current FY (up to 28.02.2017).
