(a) the steps taken by the Government to set up technical institutes in the State of Jharkhand;
(b) the location-wise details of the places in Jharkhand where technical institutes have been set up;
(c) the reasons for not assisting Jharkhand to set up technical institutes in remote and backward areas by the Government; and
(d) the reaction of the Government thereto and the corrective steps taken by the Government in this regard?
(a) & (b): All premier institutions of technology have been set up in the State of Jharkhand. These include: Conversion of Indian School of Mines Dhanbad into an IIT, Setting up an Indian Institute of Management (IIM) at Ranchi, the National Institute of Technology(NIT) at Jamshedpur, Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) at Ranchi. Government is taking all steps needed to support Jharkhand in expanding the technical education in the State.
(c) & (d): does not arise.
