Question : TARGET FOR CONSTRUCTION OF ROADS

(a) whether the Government has laid down any target for construction of National Highways for the financial year 2009-10;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government proposes, to involve the private sector to meet such targets and if any contracts have been signed in this regard;

(d) if so, the details thereof; and

(e) the length of various roads constructed out of the said targets till date?

(a) & (b): Yes Sir. The construction of 3165 km of National Highways has been targeted for the financial year 2009-10.

(c) & (d): Yes Sir. 36 projects have been awarded during 2009-10 so far. The details of which are Annexed.

(e): As against the target 2022 km has been completed by 31-01-2010.
