Question : METRO RAIL PROJECTS



(a) whether some State Governments including Government of Kerala has submitted Detailed Project Reports for setting up of Metro Rail Projects in their respective States during the last one year and as on date;

(b) if so, the details and present status thereof State-wise;

(c) the total estimated cost of these projects alongwith its funding pattern; and

(d) the target date of beginning and completion of projects?

THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF URBAN DEVELOPMENT (SHRI SUGATA ROY)

(a) to (c): The Central Government have received Detailed Project Report for extension of Delhi Metro Rail from Mundka to Bahadurgarh from Government of Haryana during the last one year. The Detailed Project Report for Kochi Metro Rail Project has been received from Government of Kerala on 12.9. 2005. The details are given below:-

Haryana: 11.781 1432 No firm proposal Government of Haryana has forwarded Extension received from State Detailed Project Report to Government of Delhi Government. of National Capital Territory of Delhi Metro to (GNCTD) on 10.3.2009 for approval. Bahadurgarh GNCTD has not accorded its approval. The Government of Haryana has not yet submitted firm proposal with cost estimates, cost sharing and firm commitment to meet its share of the cost, etc. to the Central Government. As such, proposal is presently pre-mature.
Kerala: 25.3 2991.5 Joint Ownership Special The Planning Commission has supported Kochi Metro Purpose Vehicle of the proposal subject to certain Rail Project Government of India conditions and the final Cabinet and Government of Note for Kochi Metro Rail Project Kerala on 50:50 has been sent to the Cabinet Secretariat equity sharing basis. for placing before the Cabinet. No comments can be given regarding approval by Cabinet.

(d) No target date has been fixed for beginning and completion of these projects as they are at proposal stage.
