Question : Village Knowledge Centres

(a) whether Village Knowledge Centres programme being implemented by the Government is achieving its targeted goals;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the details of the number of Village Knowledge Centres established so far and their working along with the details of nodal agencies/officers; and

(d) the details of the banks that are providing details of the schemes to the farmers?

(a) Council for Advancement of People’s Action and Rural Technology (CAPART) has been merged with National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD&PR) with effect from 01.05.2020. Village Knowledge Centre had been one of the several priority areas for intervention by selected Nodal NGOs of erstwhile CAPART. It has been decided by the Executive Council of erstwhile CAPART in its 50th meeting held on 30.9.2009 to close the Nodal NGO scheme. As such, Village Knowledge Centre support is no longer in operation.

(b) to (d) Question does not arise in view of (a) above.
