(a) to (d) At present there are total 717 Ayush (419 Ayurveda, 13 Siddha, 57 Unani, 06 Sowa-Rigpa, 48 Yoga & Naturopathy and 250 Homeopathy) colleges which are imparting AYUSH medical education. The details are as follows:

• Ministry of Ayush was established on 9th November 2014. Since then, there has been a substantial increase in the number of AYUSH colleges in the country.
• From 2014-2021, 241 new ASUSR&H (156 Ayurveda, 04 Siddha, 14 Unani, 03 Sowa Rigpa and 63 Homoeopathy) Colleges have been established/permitted to conduct Under-graduate and Post-graduate courses. The details are as follows:

• These Ayush Medical Institutions will help in improving the doctor-population ratio which has direct impact on public health.
• In pursuance of the provisions of National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act 2020, National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) has been constituted vide Ministry’s Notification dated 11th June, 2021.
• In pursuance of the provisions of National Commission for Homoeopathy Act 2020, National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH) has been constituted vide Ministry’s Notification dated 5th July, 2021.
• As per the provisions of the NCISM Act 2020 and NCH Act 2020, NCISM and NCH have the mandate in the matter related to grant of permission/denial to existing as well as new medical institutions/colleges in Indian system of medicine and Homoeopathy.
• Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National AYUSH Mission (NAM) has launched on September 2014 for promotion of AYUSH healthcare and for supporting the efforts of State/UT Governments for the development of AYUSH sector. Further, it was approved for continuation from 1st April, 2017 to 31st March, 2020 with financial outlay of Rs. 2400.00 Crore. As per OM of Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance vide F. No. 42(02/PF-II/2014 dated 10.01.2020, NAM has been further continued for 1 year i.e. 2020-21 beyond 14th Finance Commission.
The 11 New Ayush Educational Institutions in different States/UTs have been assisted under the National Ayush Mission (NAM) as per following details: -

(e) & (f) As Hepatitis-B is a viral disease, there is no definite treatment for this disease. However, in chronic stage Ayurvedic medicines like Arogyavardhini (?????????????), Phalatrikadi Kwath (?????????? ?????) and Phyllanthus niruri, Homoeopathy medicines like Chelidonium (??????????), Bryonia (??????????), Podophyllum (?????????) etc and Siddha medicines like Keezhanelli karkam (??????????? ????), Karisalai karkam (??????? ????), Sivanarvembu karkam (???????????? ????), Kadukkai karkam (??????? ????) etc have good results.
Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), an autonomous organization under Ministry of Ayush, has taken up three Clinical Studies on Liver diseases. The Council’s Institute viz. Central Ayurveda Research Institute, Bhubaneswar, Odisha has a core mandate for Clinical Research on Hepatobiliary disorders.
Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), an autonomous organization under Ministry of Ayush, though not conducted any study in treatment of Hepatitis-B, however, success stories with Homoeopathic treatment in the form of Case Reports are being published. Further, the treatment of serious chronic diseases like Hepatitis-B through Homeopathy is available at National Institute of Homeopathy (NIH) Kolkata.
Siddha treatment and counseling for prevention and management of hepatitis and related aliments is available at the National Institute of Siddha and its peripheral institutes/units of Central Council for Research in Siddha (CCRS) viz., Chennai, Palayamkottai, Pondicherry, Thiruvananthapuram, Bengaluru, New Delhi, Tirupati and Mettur.
