(a) the proportion of FASTag transactions out of total transactions in the country;
(b) the number of FASTag transactions taken place in the fiscal years 2018-19 and 2019-20 in the country, month and year-wise; and
(c) the steps being taken by the Government to incentivise higher uptake of FASTag in the country?

(a) The proportion of FASTag transactions at fee plazas of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) from 15th January 2020 to 31st January 2020 is around 66% amount-wise.
(b) The month-wise FASTag transactions for fiscal years 2018-19 and 2019-20 (upto December, 2019) is at Annexure.
(c) Government is providing 2.5% cashback in the Financial Year (FY) 2019-20 for user fee payment through FASTag. FASTag awareness program is being conducted through various platforms such as social media, print media, hoardings, advertisements, etc. Multiple channels and Point of Sale (PoS) have been operating including e-commerce platforms for easy availability of FASTag to customers. In December 2019, Government has released TV awareness campaign on FASTag featuring famous film actor with an attempt to bring in awareness and behavioural change amongst users towards user fee payment.
