(a) whether the Doordarshan (DD) proposes to introduce dedicated channels for children;
(b) if so, the details and the purpose thereof;
(c) whether any steps or initiatives have been taken by the DD to bring entertainment and
knowledge to the children through TV programmes/channels; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (d): Prasar Bharati has informed that Doordarshan does not at present have any proposal
to introduce dedicated channels for children. However, Doordarshan telecasts informative,
educative and entertaining programmes for children on its National platform and other Regional
Kendras in respective regional channels on a regular basis.
