Question : ROAD OVER BRIDGE ON BELISA

to reply to Unstarred Question No.2361 dated 7th December, 2006 and state:

(a) the total amount released to Uttar Pradesh Bridge Construction Corporation out of an outlay of Rs. 50 lakh provided in the year 2006-07 for constructing Road Over Bridge (ROB) at Belisa crossing (level crossing number –29A) on Azamgarh Sarai Rani route and total amount spent by the said Nigam thereon;

(b) the provision made for the years 2007-08 and 2008-09; and

(c)the time by when the construction work of said ROB is likely to be started ?

(a): Railways construct bridge proper across tracks whereas approaches are started by State Government. Cost is shared @ 50:50 and credit/debit accordingly takes place on completion. Railways do not release funds directly to Uttar Pradesh Bridge Corporation for construction of the over bridge, in this case for ROB (Road Over Bridge) at Belisa crossing.

(b): During 2007-08, an outlay of Rs. 15 lakh was provided for the work and during 2008-09 Rs. 80 lakh have been proposed.
