different Departments/State Governments on advertisement/publicity;
(b) If so, the details thereof for the last three years; and
(c) the steps taken to minimise wasteful expenditure?

(a) & (b) As per available information, a statement showing the Ministry/
Department-wise information on expenditure under the category Advertisement/
Publicity in Govt. of India is enclosed. Data on expenditure by State Governments
is not maintained.
(c) Guidelines are laid down in General Financial Rules, 2005 for keeping
standards of financial propriety and prudence in expenditure management. The
Government also issues instructions from time to time for effecting economy
in expenditure.
