Question : ATOMIC POWER PLANTS



(a) the number of Atomic Power Plants in the country at present, State-wise;

(b) whether the Government proposes to set up more Atomic Power plants in the country;

(c) if so, the details thereof;

(d) the amount proposed to be spent to set up these Atomic Power Plants;

(e) whether any proposal has been received by the Government for setting up of a Atomic Power plant in Maharashtra; and

(f) if so, the details thereof?

(a) There are 14 nuclear power reators in operations in the country. The state-wise details are:

(b) Yes Sir. Work on setting up of 9 nuclear power reactors is going in full swing. In fact the work on TAPP unit 4 (540 MWe) in Maharashtra has been completed and the unit is connected to grid on 4.6.2005.
