Question : Development of Maharana Pratap Airport- Udaipur

(a) whether any proposal has been approved by the Government for the development of Maharana Pratap Airport, Udaipur and if so, the details thereof;
(b) the details of work done for the development of airport in Udaipur during the last five years;
(c) the details of flights currently operating from Udaipur airport; and
(d) whether any proposal for international flights from Udaipur airport is pending with the Ministry and if so, the details thereof?

The Minister of State (IC) in the Ministry of CIVIL AVIATION (Shri Hardeep Singh Puri)

(a) & (b): Expansion/Upgradation of airport is a continuous process and is undertaken by Airports Authority of India (AAI) from time to time depending on the availability of land, commercial viability, socio-economic considerations, traffic demand / willingness of airlines to operate to/from such airports. The details of work done for the development of airport in Udaipur during the last five years is enclosed as Annexure - A. ;

(c): At present, Air India, Alliance Air, Indigo, SpiceJet and Vistara are operating flights from Udaipur airport connecting Bhopal, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Aurangabad, Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Surat. The details of flights from Udaipur to these destinations are at Annexure-B. ;

(d): Indian carriers are free to fly internationally from any place in India subject to availability of infrastructure facility available at the airport.
