(a) to (c): The 3 million metric tonnes per annum (MMTPA) refinery capacity expansion -cum-modernisation project at Manali, Chennai has been sanctioned at an estimated cost of Rs. 2360.38 crores, including foreign exchange component of Rs. 333.82 crores and the project is to be completed within 36 months i.e. by July, 2003.
The present refining capacity of Cauvery Basin refinery (CBR) at Nagapattinam is being increased from 0.5 to 1.00 MMTPA by in house debottlenecking. CBR expansion will be commissioned by July, 2001.
Kochi Refineries Ltd. (KRL) has a proposal to expand the refining capacity from the present level of 7.5 to 13.5 MMTPA. The estimated capital cost of the project is Rs. 4320 crores (at September, 1999 price basis) and the period of mechanical completion is estimated at 36 months from the receipt of investment approval.
