Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government proposes to set up any salt room therapy centre for respiratory diseases such as Asthma, Chronic bronchities, sinus, allergy and allergic cough; and
(b) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) & (b): There is no convincing evidence that salt room therapy is beneficial in respiratory disorders, or provides additional response over and above that obtained from properly administered standard treatment. There is no proposal by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India to open such facilities.
