Question : Plantation of Trees

(a) whether the Government is aware that Ficus (Peepal) and other similar trees have been planted beneath the Delhi Metro Elevations and if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether the growth of such trees in later stage would hamper the structures of Delhi Metro Elevations;
(c) if so, the details thereof;
(d) whether the Government proposes to relocate such trees to other places; and
(e) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) Yes Sir. The details are given in Annexure as per the information provided by Forest Department, NCT of Delhi.
(b)& (c) No Sir. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has informed DMRC is regularly trimming such trees for the safety of the structures.
(d)& (e) No Sir. Question does not arise.
