Question : CGHS DISPENSARIES IN KARNATAKA AND MAHARASHTRA



(a) the number of Dispensaries under Central Government Health Scheme in Karnataka and Maharashtra;

(b) the number out of them are in Bangalore, Bellary and Hubli;

(c) whether there is any proposal to open more CGHS dispensaries in these States;

(d) if so, the details thereof, location-wise; and

(e) the decision of the Union Government thereon?

(a) & (b) The number of dispensaries under CGHS in Karnataka is 14 and all the dispensaries are located in Bangalore only. There are no CGHS dispensaries in Bellary and Hubli.
The number of dispensaries under the CGHS in Maharashtra is 57 as per details given below :-

i)	Mumbai	34	ii)	Nagpur	13	iii)	Pune	10
(c) to (e) Though there are proposals for opening of more CGHS dispensaries at Pune, Mumbai and Bangalore in the remaining part of the Ninth Five year Plan but pending implementation of the SIU Report of November, 1999, on CGHS (Allopathic) dispensaries, it will not be possible to open more CGHS dispensaries at these places at present.
