MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) IN THE MINISTRY OF CHEMICALS & FERTILIZERS AND MINISTER
OF STATE (I/C) IN THE MINISTRY OF STATISTICS & PROGRAMME IMPLEMENTATION (SHRI SRIKANT KUMAR JENA)
(a) to (b): There are few Process Licensors for fertilizer manufacturing process in the world
and they have this technology patented. However, there is large scale of technology absorption
by Indian manufacturers. Only licensing and basic engineering is imported for Ammonia Urea
plant which amounts to about 10% of the project cost. For rest of the project components
including detailed engineering, the Indian capability is well developed. Domestic industry
innovates and improves upon technology based on economic viability. It has been Governmentâs
endeavour to provide favourable and conducive policy environment to promote development of
domestic technology in the fertilizer sector.
