(a) whether the Government have identified some power projects for immediate
implementation;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the total expenditure likely to be incurred on these projects; and
(d) the details of production likely to be increased after completion of these projects?

(a) to (d) : There are 23 thermal power projects with a total capacity of 9133.4 MW
and 43 hydro power projects with a total capacity of 12665.6 MW which are presently
under construction.
The Working Group on Power for the 10th Plan has identified projects
aggregating to 46939 MW of which projects aggregating to 5850.68 MW are to be
commissioned in the 1st year of the 10th Plan. The Working Group has estimated that for
commissioning of 10th Plan projects, an outlay of Rs.323533 crore is required. This
includes advance action for projects to be commissioned in the 11th Plan.
