(a) whether the Government has received any proposal from the Government of Gujarat for construction of coastal Highway in Gujarat particularly in Saurashtra Kutch region; and
(b) if so, the details thereof and the decision taken by the Government in this regards?

(a) &(b) This Ministry is primarily responsible for development & maintenance of National Highways. NH-8A & NH-8A Ext. and NH-8E & NH-8E Ext. are passing through coastal area of Kutch and Saurashtra region respectively. The following works have been sanctioned for improvement of these National Highways from 1999-2000 to 2004-05 under various schemes depending upon the condition of the road, traffic volume, inter-se priority and availability of funds:
