Question : Migration Support Centres

(a) whether the Government maintains a record of the number of Migration Support Centres;

(b) if so, the details thereof, State/UT wise;


(c) whether the Government has data on the total number of beneficiaries availing the services of such Migration Support Centres; and

(d) the details of the services which are provided at these Migration Support Centres?

Answer given by the minister

(a) Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship does not maintain the Migration Support Centres. Ministry of Rural Development have established so far 10 Migration Support Centres under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) by four States under National Rural Economic Transformation Project (NRETP).

(b) The details of the Migration Support Centres operated by the States are as under:

(i) Help the migrant candidates to settle in a new geographical location.
(ii) Post placement counseling.
(iii) Medical Aid and support.
(iv) Providing identity validation services.
(v) Helping with Banking related services
(vi) Financial literacy.
(vii) Employer engagement
(viii) Legal support and education.
