Question : Share-Contribution of States in Textile Sector

(a) the details of schemes being run for development, modernisation and expansion of textile industry in the country along with the share and contribution of each states in this field;

(b) the details of funds allocated and utilised by various sectors of textiles industry during the last three years and the current year, year, scheme and State-wise;

(c) whether the Government proposes to allocate central funds for clothes manufactured by Powerloom as well as handloom sector, if so, the details thereof;

(d) whether the Government proposes to launch new scheme for setting up of textile units including in private sector, if so , the details thereof; and

(e) the fresh measures taken by the Government to promote the textile industry in the country including Uttar Pradesh?

(a): The Government of India has implemented various schemes such as Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS), Scheme for Development of Technical textiles, Schemes for the Development of the Handloom, Handicraft and Powerloom Sectors, Scheme for Integrated Textile Parks (SITP), Integrated Skill Development Scheme (ISDS), Technology Mission on Technical textiles (TMTT), Schemes for promoting the usage of Agrotextiles and Geotextiles etc, North Eastern Region Textile Promotion Scheme (NERTPS) for development, modernization and expansion of textile industry. These schemes are being implemented on pan India basis based on each States requirement.

(b): The sector-wise details of funds allocated and utilized for 2012-13, 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16 is placed at Annexure I.

(c): The allocations made for Powerloom and Handloom Sector in the Budget are placed at Annexure-I.

(d): No Madam.

(e): The measures undertaken by the Government to promote textile industry in the country are listed at (a) above. As far as Uttar Pradesh is concerned, the Ministry of Textiles has provided assistance for 3 parks under Scheme for Integrated Textile Park (SITP), namely, Eco Tex Textile & Apparel Park. Lakshmi Textile Park Fatehpur & Farrukhabad Textile Park. Further, under Integrated Scheme Development Scheme, 45,773 persons have been trained in UP.
