Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF THE STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF COAL (DR. DASARI NARAYANA RAO)

(a): Sale of coal under E-auction for road transport is made colliery- wise, whereas in case of sale of coal under E-auction by rail it is siding/pilot-wise where coal is supplied from various sources. There is no common auction for rail and road. In the existing E-auction system, the price of coal is not determined by the coal companies but only by the successful bidders/purchasers themselves. Therefore, scope of some variations in bid price for the two modes is possible.

(b)to(d): Do not arise in view of reply given in part (a) above.
