Question : Proposal for Urea Production Plants

(a) the number of proposals received by the Government for setting up new Urea Production Plants in the country during each of the last three years and the current year, State/UT-wise;

(b) the details of the existing Urea Production facilities earmarked for capacity augmentation and the funds allocated for the same;

(c) the details of fund utilized for capacity augmentation of these Urea production facilities during said period; and

(d) the number of Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) signed by Indian Companies consortium for overseas projects?

(a) : The details of proposals received by Department of Fertilizers is annexed.

(b) & (c): No funds have been allocated to urea manufacturing units for the capacity augmentation by the Government. However, as per the details provided by the companies, following companies have under taken revamp during the said period :

National Fertilizers Limited (NFL)

Funds to the tune of Rs. 677 crore were utilized in implementation of the NFL Vijaipur-I and Vijaipur-II revamp projects.

Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO)

KRIBHCO had completed revamp of Hazira Fertilizer Complex during the period 2012-13. The total expense incurred was approximately Rs. 1226 crore.

Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited (RCFL)

The details of funds for Revamp project at Thal unit is as follows:-
