Question : Wages to Labourers under MGNREGS

(a) the details of the wages paid to the labourers working under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) during the last three years;

(b) the number of months for which the said payment is due till date in Madhya Pradesh, district-wise;

(c) whether wages are paid to the labourers working under MGNREGS category-wise in the order of the Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes and then to unreserved classes respectively and if so, the details thereof;

(d) whether the Government has issued any guidelines in this regard and if so, the details thereof;

(e) whether the said practice is not discriminatory; and

(f) the number of labourers who have been paid wages in Madhya Pradesh, including Seoni and Balaghat districts of Balaghat Parliamentary Constituency till date along with the amount of wages paid to them, category-wise?

Statement in reply to Parts (a) to (f) of Lok Sabha Starred Question No. 270 for 22.03.2022

(a): State/UT-wise details of fund release on wage component under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (Mahatma Gandhi NREGS) during the last three financial years 2018-19, 2019-20 and 2020-21 is given at Annexure.

(b): Fund release to the States/UTs is a continuous process and Central Government is committed in making funds available keeping in view the demand for work on the ground. There is no pending liability for wage component under Mahatma Gandhi NREGS for State of Madhya Pradesh as on 17.03.2022.

(c): No, Sir.

(d): No guidelines have been issued as per the part (c) of question.

(e): Does not arise as per the reply of Part (d) of question.

(f): In the current financial year 2021-22 (as on 16.03.2022), an amount of Rs. 5,372.68 crore has been released for wage component and total of 28.91 crore persondays have been generated in the State of Madhya Pradesh under Mahatma Gandhi NREGS.

In the current financial year 2021-22 (as on 16.03.2022), the details of persondays generated and expenditure on wage in the districts of Seoni and Balaghat of Madhya Pradesh under Mahatma Gandhi NREGS are given below:
