Question : Performance of NHAI

(a) the extent to which the Government is satisfied with the performance and functioning of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI);

(b) whether the Ministry of Road and Transport Highways has made a remark that it is not satisfied with the performance of the NHAI officials;

(c) if so, the reasons therefor;

(d) whether the Government has taken any action against the officials of NHAI who were held responsible for non-performance and other reasons; and

(e) if so, the details thereof for each of the last three years ?

(a) to (e) National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has constructed 3979 kms against the target of 4500 kms during the financial year 2019-20. NHAI has constructed 3382 kms till 16.03.2021 against the target of 4000 kms during the current financial year (2020-21). Thus, NHAI has largely met the targets of highway construction.
