Question : Delay in Works of MP Residences

a) Whether civil/electrical works being done by the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) for uprgradation/renovation of flats/residences/bungalows like Sindhu and Gomti and other flats allotted to newly elected Members of Parliament of Lok Sabha and their staff quarters have been given to a single agency due which not a single flat or their staff quarters has been upgraded/renovated within the scheduled time;

(b) if so, the details thereof and the reasons of giving contract to single agency and the action likely to be taken against the officers and agency responsible for this; and

(c) the time limit fixed for the upgradation/renovation work of Gomti/Sindhu and other flats and the budget allocated for upgradation/renovation of each flat?

(a) & (b) Contract for renovation/upgradation of Bungalows/flats/Residences of the Hon’ble Members of

Parliament, handed over by Parliament Secretariat to Central Works Public Department (CPWD), has been given to single agency for better co-ordination and efficient execution of works and more than 200 Bungalows/flats/Residences of the Hon’ble Members of Parliament, have been upgraded.

(c) Budget and time requirement for renovation/upgradation of each flat depends on the condition of residential units, the kind of works involved and actual site conditions.
