Question : Dams and Water Projects

(a) the details and the number of dams and water projects sanctioned by the Government under Bundelkhand Special Package provided for development of Bundelkhand region;
(b) the quantum of funds sanctioned for dams and water projects under the said package particularly for Madhya Pradesh;
(c) the number of projects completed and the time limit fixed for completing the remaining projects in Bundelkhand region; and
(d) whether the Government has formulated any concrete plan to complete these projects at the earliest and if so, the details thereof?

STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO PARTS (a) TO (d) OF STARRED QUESTION NO. †*344 TO BE ANSWERED ON 12.12.2019 IN LOK SABHA REGARDING “DAMS AND WATER PROJECTS” ASKED BY SHRI VISHNU DATT SHARMA HON’BLE M.P., LOK SABHA.

(a) to (d) The Central Government approved a Special Package for Bundelkhand region during November, 2009 amounting to Rs.7266 Crore (Rs. 3760 crore for Madhya Pradesh and Rs. 3506 crore for Uttar Pradesh). The Central Government further approved, an Additional Central Assistance of Rs. 200 Crore (Rs.100 Crore each for U.P. and M.P.) during May, 2011 to provide drinking water in Bundelkhand region. Central Assistance of Rs.6257.35 Crore (UP - Rs.3107.87 crore; MP- Rs 3149.48 crore) has been released from 2009-10 to 31.03.2018.
