(a) & (b) The details of number of telephone exchanges functioning and set-up in last three years in Gujrat and Dahod District are given in Annexure.
(c) All the existing 2163 telephone exchanges are electronic and modernized. 100 new telephone exchanges are proposed to be set-up during the year 2000-2001 in Gujrat.
(d) Six new exchanges are proposed in Dahod at Kadwal, Bordi, Chosala, Mirakhedi, Pethapur and Kalia-Kota. The locations for remaining new exchanges are being finalized.
(e) The Demands for Grant for the year 2000-2001 are yet to be approved by the Parliament. The funds for setting up new telephone exchanges in Gujrat for the year 2000-2001 will be fixed only after the Demands for Grants for the year 2000-2001 are approved by the Parliament.
(f) The hiring of building is in progress and equipment is being ordered.
