(c) & (d): Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises has not investigated the reason for gender disparity in MSME registration. But, the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises aims to promote women entrepreneurs through the following initiatives. (i) Under Public Procurement Policy, out of 25% procurement by Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) mandated from Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs), 3% is reserved for women entrepreneurs. (ii) Under Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), women entrepreneurs are eligible to get subsidy at the higher slab. PMEGP provides margin money subsidy of 35% of the project cost in rural areas and 25% in urban areas to women whereas general category entrepreneurs can avail margin money subsidy of 25% of the project cost in rural areas and 15% in urban areas.
(e): As per the information received from SIDBI, gender wise number of sanctioned proposals, disbursed proposals and rejected proposals under MSME loan is as under:
