Question : CGHS Beneficiaries

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government is aware that CGHS beneficiaries are still facing problems due to the non-availability of medicine or poor quality of medicine;

(b) if so, the details thereof along with the reasons therefor;

(c) the number of complaints received in this regard during the last three years and the outcome of the inquiry conducted on such complaints; and

(d) the reaction of the Government thereto?

ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH AND
FAMILY WELFARE

(a): Yes.

(b): There are some few complaints of
(i) delayed supply.
(ii) supply of different brand of same medicines.
(iii) Non supply.

The reasons are non availability of such medicines in market or delay in supply or non supply by authorized local chemist.

(c): Exact number of complaints received during last three years and outcome of inquiry is under collection and information shall be provided as soon as available.

(d): CGHS has started random checking of samples to detect substandard quality and has taken steps to ensure timely availability of similar medicine if same brand is not available in market.
