Question : FOREIGN FUNDED TOURISM PROJECTS

(a) the details of ongoing tourism projects being funded by foreign companies, location-wise;

(b) the amount invested by foreign companies in these projects during each of the last three years, project-wise;

(c) whether the present allocation for tourism is sufficient to meet the target of tourism; and

(d) if so, the efforts being made by the Government to meet the growing demand for funds in the tourism sector?

(a) & (b): The information is being collected and will be furnished.

(c) & (d): An allocation of Rs.225 crores has been made for the plan schemes in the year 2002-2003. The Planning Commission has indicated an allocation of Rs.2900 crores for the Tenth Plan as against Rs.595 crores actually provided during the Ninth Plan.
