Question : BUXAR AARA PATNA NATIONAL HIGHWAY



(a) whether the Government proposes to convert Buxar-Aara-Patna National Highway into four lane in Bihar;

(b) if so, the details and present status thereof;

(c) the estimated cost of the project and the time frame fixed for completion of the said project; and

(d) the total amount of funds spent on the widening and repairing works of this National Highway during the last three years and the current year?

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS (SHRI SARVEY SATHYANARAYANA)

(a) to (c) Buxar-Aara-Patna section of NH-30 and NH-84 in the State of Bihar is being upgraded to 4-laning and the Concession Agreement has already been signed by the concessionaire on 02.02.2012. The concessionaire is yet to achieve the financial closure and fulfillment of Condition Precedent. The Appointed Date for the project gets fixed only after the achievement of the financial closure by the concessionaire. The total project cost is Rupees 1129.11 crores and the construction period and the concession period is 30 months and 20 years respectively with effect from the appointed date.

(d) The total amount sanctioned /spent on maintenance of Buxar-Aara-Patna section by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) during the last year and the current year is as under:
