Question : FUNDING OF ROAD PROJECTS

(a) whether the Government proposes to start process of e-bidding;

(b) if so, the details thereof and the action taken thereon;

(c) whether Indian and foreign companies have shown keen interest for participating in key road projects and if so, the details thereof; and

(d) whether the Government proposes to set up a finance corporation in partnership with Japanese investor to fund projects in the road sector and if so, the details thereof?

(a) and (b) E-bidding has already been adopted by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and is has been made mandatory to call upon all bids through e-tendering.

(c) No such information is being maintained by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
