Question : SWAYAM PRABHA Programme

(a) the expected date of launch of additional channels for decimating regional content under the PM e-Vidya and/or Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds (SWAYAM PRABHA) and in case of phase-wise launch, the expected date of each phase, along with the number of channels being launched during that phase;
(b) the number of channels to be launched and the funds allocated for the same for the present year in PM e-Vidya and SWAYAM PRABHA; and
(c) the review mechanism in place for the effectiveness of the content being aired on PM e-Vidya and SWAYAM PRABHA?

(a) & (b) As per budget announcement for Financial Year 2022-23, 200 (Two hundred) PM eVIDYA Swayam Prabha DTH TV Channels were announced. 12 Channels in school education and 22 channels in higher education are already functional.
(c) The content development for TV is done under a Standard operating Procedure (SoP). CIET, NCERT is the nodal agency and SCERTs of States and UTs coordinate the effort based on guidance by CIET, NCERT.
