(a) whether the Government has prescribed any time limit for according the environmental
clearance to industrial and other projects;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the applications of many SEZ Developers from different States
including Gujarat are pending for clearance;
(d) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor; SEZ-wise and State-wise,
and
(e) the time-frame by which all the SEZs are likely to be cleared including those
from Gujarat?

(a) & (b) The Environmental impact Assessment Notification of September 2006 stipulates a time
limit of 60 days for conveying the Terms of Reference to the applicant on receipt of application
with all necessary documents. Further, a time limit of 105 days, after of the receipt of the
complete application with all necessary documents, has been provided for the appraisal and
conveying the decision.
