(a): The production of Mangoes across the country including Uttar Pradesh for the years 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19(3rd Advance Estimate), State-wise, is at Annexure.
(b) & (c): To promote the production and productivity of fruits including Mango across the country, Government is implementing Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) w.e.f. 2014-15 for holistic growth of Horticulture sector, through its various interventions such as production of planting material, coverage of area with improved cultivars, rejuvenation of senile orchards, protected cultivation, creation of water resources, adoption of Integrated Pest Management (IPM), Integrated Nutrient Management (INM), organic farming, etc.
Under MIDH, for high density plantation of Mango, assistance is provided for meeting the expenditure on planting material, cost of drip system, INM/IPM, canopy management etc.:-
i. @ 40% of cost to the maximum of Rs. 1.50 lakh/hectare i.e., maximum Rs. 60000 per hectare, under integrated package with drip irrigation, and
ii. @ 40% of cost to the maximum of Rs. 1.00 lakh/hectare i.e., maximum Rs. 40,000 per hectare, without integration,
iii. @ 50% of cost, in case of North East and Himalayan states, Tribal Sub Plans (TSP) areas, Andaman & Nicobar and Lakshadweep Islands.
National Horticulture Board (NHB) is implementing a scheme namely “Development of Commercial Horticulture through Production and Post Harvest Management of Horticulture Crops”, under which, backended subsidy @40% of the total project cost limited to Rs. 30.00 lakh per project in general areas and 50% of project cost limited to Rs. 37.50 lakh in NE and Hill States and Scheduled areas for open field cultivation of various fruit crops including Mango crop for projects more than 5 acres, is provided.
