Question : EMPLOYMENT TO GRADUATE ENGINEERS



(a) the approximate number of Graduate Engineers passing out every year in the country;

(b) whether India has enough infrastructure to absorb all of them; and

(c) if so, the measures taken to provide employment to all graduate engineers to solve unemployment problem?

(a) to (c) : Though the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) grants approval for intake of students in engineering colleges throughout the country, admission to which is done through the State Level Committees. The details of students eventually passing out from more than thousand engineering colleges, affiliated to different universities, throughout the country is not maintained centrally. Students passing out from engineering colleges get absorbed in various organisations both in India and abroad and also in areas of self-employment.
