(a) whether the Government has sanctioned hockey pavellion and the dormatory in Dhyanchand Stadium at Jhansi ;
(b) if so, the details thereof ;
(c) the financial assistance likely to be given for the purpose ; and
(d) the time by which the construction is likely to be completed ?

(a) The Government of India has approved Central assistance for installation of Synthetic Hockey Surface and a sports hostel at Dhyanchand Stadium , Jhansi .
(b) The approved central assistance of Rs.1.00 crore for installation of Synthetic Hockey Surface was sanctioned on 26.5.2003 . Again , the central assistance of Rs.28.65 lakhs for construction of a sports hostel has been sanctioned on 14.5.2004. The approved assistance is considered for release only after the State Government has spent atleast 50% of the State`s share and submit progress report , audited accounts etc. to this Ministry.
(c) As per communication received from Planning Commission, the centrally sponsored scheme for creation of sports infrastructure has been transferred to state sector from 1.4.2005.
(d) The completion of construction would depend on availability of funds with the State Government and progress made by the construction Agency.
