(a) the total number of postmen working in the State of Goa;
(b) whether many of the said postmen are on contract, if so, the details thereof and the number of such postmen along with the time since when they are on contract; and
(c) whether the Government intends to regularize the services of these postmen and if so, the details thereof?

(a) Total number of Postman, including Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) officiating as Postman, working in the State of Goa is 145.
(b) & (c) No Postman has been engaged on contract basis. However, 97 persons have been engaged, on daily wages, on purely temporary basis, for delivery work as per requirement of post offices due to vacant posts. Since, no one has been engaged on contract basis, the question of regularization of service does not arise. Further, vacant posts are filled up as per provisions of the Recruitment Rules.
