(a) to (c): The recommendations of National Commission for Religious and Linguistic Minorities (NCRLM) has been examined in the Ministry of Minority Affairs. Accordingly, the Government has taken a decision to create a sub-quota of 4.5% reservation for minority communities as defined under Section 2 (c) of National Commission for Minorities Act, 1992 [viz. Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhist and Zoroastrians (Parsis)] out of the 27% quota for the OBCs in admission to Central Government institutions and in Civil Posts under the Government of India. The Department of Personnel and Training and the Ministry of Human Resource Development (Department of Higher Education) have issued instructions accordingly.
