Question : Pharma Companies

(a) whether the Government proposes to inspect Plants of Pharma Companies once in five years;
(b) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor; and
(c) the measures proposed to be adopted by the Government to control the increasing pollution in nearby areas of the pharma plants?

(a)There is no proposal with this Ministry to inspect pharma plants once in five years.

(b)&(c) The pharma plants including nearby area are monitored for adherence to consent conditions by the State Pollution Control Boards/ Pollution Control Committees concerned and are inspected for monitoring compliance of the standards notified for Pharmaceutical industries under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986, as amended from time to time.
