(a) whether the Government proposes to scrape the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE);
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the said institution has become a hub of corruption in the technical education sector;
(d) if so, the reaction of the Government thereon; and
(e) the remedial steps taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) & (b): No Madam. There is no such proposal under consideration of the Ministry.
(c) to (e): No instance of major corruption in All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) related to technical education, has come to the notice of the Govt. However, the Govt. has received some complaints against the AICTE of alleged corruption and irregula- rities of a minor nature related to technical education. The complaints have been investigated as per prevailing orders issued by the Government from time to time and necessary remedial action, if required, has been taken as per norms laid down in the Approval Process Handbook.
