Question : Healthcare Professionals

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government is involved in an agreement between Tata trusts and GE healthcare that aims to train 10000 youth in various technical areas of the healthcare sector in three years;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the steps taken by the Government to bridge the growing gap between demandsupply of healthcare professionals;

(d) the measures undertaken by the Government to bridge the skills gap among healthcare staff in technical or operating roles; and

(e) whether there are any special provisions for women and men belonging to rural areas, if so, the details thereof and if not, the alternative steps taken to provide them the requisite skill?

(a) & (b): The agreement is between the two entities namely the Tata Trusts and GE Healthcare without any direct involvement of the Government. Under that agreement, training are to be conducted as per the set standards by Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
(c) to (e): MoHFW has signed an MoU with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) for providing skill training for health sector.
A Central Sector grant-in-aid scheme “Human Resource Development for Emergency Medical Services” is implemented to set up Skill Centres in 86 government owned medical colleges in the country for training doctors, nurses and para-medical personnel on emergency life support skills.
