(a) the number of telephone towers set up in Maharashtra at present, district-wise;

(b) the details of telephone towers being constructed in Jalana district of Maharashtra by the Department of Telecommunications; and

(a) The total number of telephone towers in Maharashtra is 587. The district wise details is enclosed in the Annexure.

(b) Three numbers of 40 meters narrow base towers are planned for construction in Jalna district in this financial year. The construction works of two towers at Warud (BK) and Sukhapuri have already been completed and that for third tower at Jalna HQ is in progress.

(c) The radio equipments on these towers are likely to start functioning by March, 2002.
