(a) Whether the Government proposes to set up Vocational
Training Institute is Tribal areas with a view to providing
education to the tribal students;
(b) If so, the details thereof, State-wise; and
(c) The other steps proposed to be taken by the Government
in this direction ?

(a) to(c): The Ministry of Tribal Affairs already has a Central Sector Scheme,
viz. Vocational Training in Tribal Areas which is 100% centrally funded and is under
implementation through the State Governments, UT administrations and NGOs. The
main aim of the scheme is to develop the skills of tribal youth to enable them to get
gainful employment/self employment. State wise release of funds to the State
Governments/UTs and to the NGOs during the last three years are at Annexures I & II.
