Question : Special Training Program for Youth

(a) whether the Government has organised/ conducted any special programme to impart entrepreneurship training for the youth especially for young women including those belonging to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes for running small businesses in the country including Maharashtra ; and

(b) if so, the details thereof?

(a): The objective of the Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programme (ESDP) scheme of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises is to motivate youth representing different sections of the society including SC/ST/Women, differently abled, Ex-servicemen and BPL persons to consider self employment or entrepreneurship as one of the career options. The main objective is to promote new enterprises, capacity building of existing MSMEs and inculcating entrepreneurial culture in the country. It is a Pan India Scheme which also includes Maharashtra.

(b): The Year-wise details of the ESDP scheme training programmes conducted along with the no. of beneficiaries are given in tabulated form.
