14 Khurda Road 1994-95 60.00 1995.25 244.41 86% of -Bolangir physical (289 Km) work in (new Line) respect of Phase-I (from Khurda Road to Begunia) of Khurda Road – Bolangir New Line Project has been completed. Khurda Road – Khurda Town Section has been completed in 2012-13. Khurda Town – Sunakhela section falling on Khurda Road – Nayagarh is targeted for completion in 2013-14.
(b): Orissa is having a network density of 6.69 Km. per lakh of population which is higher
than National average of 6.22 Km per lakh of population. In area terms, network density of
Orissa is 15.81 Km per 1000 Sq.Km which is less than national average of 19.61 Km.
(c) to (e): Yes Madam. Letters from public representatives from Odisha including Shri Kalikesh
N. Singh Deo, MP, Shri Rama Chandra Khuntia, MP, and Shri Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister of
Odisha regarding improvement of rail connectivity in Odisha were received and the same were
acknowledged/replied after due examination.
7 New Line projects covering a length of 906.7Km and 16 Doubling/GC projects covering a length
of 1354 Km falling fully/partly in Orissa have been taken up. On completion, these projects
will augment Railway network in Orissa.
