Question : Administration of First dose of COVID-19 Vaccine

(a) whether the Government has noted a decrease in the number of people taking the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination in the last few weeks and if so, the details thereof;

(b) whether the Government is on course to achieve the target to fully inoculate all adults by the year-end;

(c) if so, the details thereof; and

(d) if not, the steps taken to promote and facilitate vaccination of the remaining population?

STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO LOK SABHA
STARRED QUESTION NO. 327* FOR 25TH MARCH, 2022

(a) to (d): As on 21st March 2022, against the estimated population of about 101.30 crore beneficiaries aged 15 years and above, a total of 181.24 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered. 96.81 crore (96%) beneficiaries have received at least one dose, 82.09 crore (81%) beneficiaries have received both the doses and 2.17 crore beneficiaries have received the precaution dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
A total of 9.71 crore 1st dose were administered in the month of January 2022 while 2.22 crore 1st dose of COVID-19 vaccine were administered in the month of February 2022 as most of the target beneficiaries are already covered.
Adequate Covid-19 vaccine doses are made available to all States/UTs to vaccinate all eligible beneficiaries with 1st dose, 2nd dose and precaution dose. ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ Teekakaran Abhiyan was launched wherein missed beneficiaries for 1st dose and due beneficiaries for 2nd dose are identified and vaccinated through house-to-house activity.
Government of India has been regularly reviewing COVID-19 vaccination coverage and has issued multiple advisories to States/UTs to cover eligible beneficiaries with both doses of COVID-19 vaccine and precaution dose.
