Question : Construction of New Airport at Navi Mumbai

(a) the current status of construction of new airport in Navi Mumbai;

(b) whether the construction of new airport in Navi Mumbai has been delayed and shall not meet its target date of completion;

(c) if so, the details of the cost escalation of the project due to the delay;

(d) the target date fixed for completion of said project and the actual time likely to be taken for completion of said project; and

(e) the measures taken to complete the construction work of the new airport in Navi Mumbai as soon as possible?

(a) Mandatory approvals from Ministry of Environment & Forest (MoEF), Ministry of Civil Aviation and Forest Clearance from State as well as Central level have been obtained. City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra Limited (CIDCO) has already awarded the land development works in the core airport area in the month of April, 2017. The land acquisition and R & R are in advance stage of completion. CIDCO being the project proponent has awarded the project to M/o Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) on 24/10/2017.

(c) Does not arise(s).

(d) CIDCO has informed that one runway with the required facilities will be ready by December, 2019.

(e) Land development Works has already been awarded in 3 Packages and was started.
